Community has always been at the center of the work I do. When I moved to Kitsap County, I quickly found myself surrounded by people and organizations deeply committed to supporting one another. I knew right away that I didn’t just want to build a business here, I wanted to be part of that ecosystem and contribute in meaningful ways.

Before moving to Kitsap, I volunteered as a writer for The Lantern Project in Seattle, a nonprofit focused on stopping human trafficking and supporting survivors. Today, I continue that commitment through both my professional work and volunteer efforts. I serve as a board member and volunteer at the Central Kitsap Food Bank and work as the Senior Manager of Communications and Digital Programs at the Bainbridge Island Museum of Art, where I lead their marketing team. I’ve also had the privilege of supporting organizations like Bremerton Backpack Brigade and Meals on Wheels Kitsap through my professional work.

Supporting Community, Creating Impact

The work I do, both professionally and personally, is guided by a deep belief that strong communities are built through connection, advocacy, and care for one another. I don’t think of this work as “giving back.” It’s investing in the lives of the people around us.

Community Involvement

I stay actively involved in local organizations that are making a difference across Kitsap County.

Areas I Care Deeply About

The causes closest to my heart shape the work and organizations I choose to support.

  • Food security and access to nutritious meals

  • Women’s rights and advocacy

  • Survivor advocacy and consent empowerment

  • Mental health awareness and support

  • Animal welfare and housing

“Here's how great working with Fina is: halfway through our first project together I signed up for a second one. Her refresh of Meals on Wheels Kitsap's website is not only a technical marvel, but an aesthetic and human-focused one. She has a way of bringing to life the values of our mission beyond what we hoped for. Fina grasps equally well the tech and human aspects of doing business; she absolutely knows her craft, and is also an understanding, friendly, collaborative, endlessly supportive professional.

Two-way communication is paramount in a joint project, and she excels here too: from day one, all correspondence was timely, clear, results-based, thoughtful, and open. She also listens, closely and respectfully. And everything - Every Thing - was delivered on time.

If you're looking for a programming and aesthetic artist to breathe new life into your website with grace and style, look no further. She's Mindful Minds for a reason!”

Storytelling for Nonprofits

Storytelling has always been one of the ways I support the organizations and causes I care about. I believe stories help people connect more deeply to the impact happening in their communities.

Through my volunteer writing with The Lantern Project in Seattle, I helped share stories that raised awareness around human trafficking and survivor advocacy. Locally, I’ve also had the opportunity to highlight community impact through writing, including covering The Social Soiree’s support of the Bremerton Backpack Brigade in Bremerton Neighbors magazine. Being able to use storytelling to amplify the work of nonprofits is one of the most meaningful parts of what I do.
