A young woman with brown hair and blue eyes is smiling outdoors amid white flowering shrubs, wearing a blue and white striped shirt.

Features

  • Page from a magazine or newspaper discussing communities that care, featuring photos of a social event and a nonprofit organization, with text related to social outreach and community involvement.

Communities That Care - Bremerton Neighbors

I had the honor of writing a feature on The Social Soirée and Bremerton Backpack Brigade for Bremerton Neighbors magazine — two organizations that are doing incredible work right here in our community. From creating meaningful spaces for connection to providing essential food support for local families, these groups are making a real difference.

It was a privilege to help share their stories and highlight the heart behind the work they do every day.

  • Black and white magazine page titled "My Little Love" featuring a woman with short dark hair and a necklace, standing outdoors among trees, with text describing the magazine issue and its focus on survivors' stories.

My Little Love in Awakenings Art

I am SO honored to have been invited back to Awakenings Art to feature another poem.

A lot has happened between the first time I published with them and now. And I wanted to showcase some of that growth. I wanted to share a poem of duality: hating your trauma & having some of that hatred bleed over into your own self image. and then learning how to fall in love with yourself again, and come back into relationship with your mind and body.

  • Cover of 'Awakened Voices' literary magazine featuring colorful, wavy lines and a profile silhouette of a person's face in blue.

    Healing in Awakenings Art

My poem, “Healing,” was featured in Awakenings Art Issue 8, Those Who Help. They asked writers to show them what it looks like to help a survivor, to be helped as a survivor, and what it looks like when someone cannot help or chooses not to help.

You can read my poem here.
